After a summer of spending lots of time together as a family, I’m ready to start entertaining in our home again by inviting more friends over for dinner! Since Fall is my favourite season, I had a lot of fun putting together a Fall table setting idea in our dining room using lots of different colours and textures.

Since we made over our front room this Spring, it’s been one of my favourite spaces to style. It’s the first room you see when you walk into our home, so I love to make it look fresh, exciting, and seasonally appropriate.

If you’re like me and enjoy decorating for Fall with non-traditional colours, you might just like this dining room decor and Fall table setting idea.

For the table, I wanted to create a simple bohemian feel with a DIY macrame table runner and a colour scheme of teal, pink and copper.

The table runner took a long time to make, but I LOVED it! I don’t know why I haven’t tried macrame before.

I’ll share the pattern & tutorial for the table runner soon so that you can make one too. Doesn’t it look pretty on my Keswick table from The Brick? The more I style this table, the more I love it. It’s so warm in colour, and the detail on the legs is incredible! I also love that it’s all solid wood so that it will last us a very long time.

I found some candlesticks in silver and brass at the thrift store, and I spray painted them in my favourite spray paint colour of the season – Rustoleum’s Copper Rose. Simple white plates and copper cutlery complete this warm, Fall tablescape.

I also spray painted my Keurig machine in the Copper Rose (it’s hiding on the buffet), and you can find that video tutorial here.

Teal and copper pumpkins with some faux greenery and soft pink sunflowers add some seasonal flair to the upcycled buffet.

I put my DIY grey & teal floral drapes back up to add a little coziness to the room, and these Peyton dining chairs from The Brick help ground the space with their dark bronze colour.

  1. You made that macrame table runner? Wow, I’m so impressed!!! I need one that covers 96″ table…was just going to buy one, but you have inspired me to try it on my own. Hopefully I’ll finish it before ThanksGiving!! Can’t wait to see the tutorial. Beautiful

  2. The table is beautiful…..but can we talk about that room!!?? It’s gorgeous! The woodwork, lighting, drapes, rug….everything goes together so well. The macrame runner is my favorite part of your table though!! I love it. Great job. I used to make macrame necklaces and I am so happy macrame is back:) Saw your post from the diy showoff party! pinned:)

  3. Winning this cricut would mean the world to me. I am currently planning my DIY wedding, and it would make it a lot easier to do many projects from paper flowers to personalized gifts. I am also becoming a elementary school teacher so I will get use of it in the classroom as well. It will make life so much easier for all paper crafts and decorating. Happy Birthday!

    Feeling hopeful,
    Natalie

  4. Hey Christina … this setting looks amazing. It doesn’t matter if the colours are not the traditional for fall … I for one … don’t care to much of what is traditional, you just have to go with whatever you believe it makes sense and looks good.

That macrame adds such a stylish and persobal touch to the table … hiw long it took you to make the macrame?

Long long time ago, I use to do macrame and knitting togehter with my mum and grandmother 🙂 … I know … now you understand why I said I don’t care about what is traditional at the begining ? 🙂

Overall it looks stunning! It looks like a magazine dining room!

    Thanks for sharing!
