Our fridge and pantry are seriously Mother Hubbard right now, so I’ve made my meal plan for the week and we’re setting out on an epic grocery shop today! (You know you’re a mom when you can call grocery shopping “epic”.)
I’m planning on a little bit of crock potting this week, along with a team of one-dishers. This Saturday June 8th, I’ll be joining Modern Mama here in Edmonton at a fun Father’s Day Event. It’s a “Dad & Me Playdate and Photoshoot” at Cafe O’Play where guests can have their photos taken, create 3D imprints as keepsakes, and do a bird feeder craft together! I’ll be there helping make the bird feeders at around noon with my girlies, and I was able to do a quick demo on CTV Edmonton this past Wednesday. [Read more…]
Have you been meal planning with me? How is it going for you?
My body is absolutely craving fresh veggies, fruits and good ol’ fashioned home-cooked meals this week after our nightmare week in the hospital.

One of my worst fears (and probably the worst fear of all moms) is my children getting very, very sick or hurt.
This past Sunday, Little C was transported by ambulance to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton because she could hardly breathe. I went with her. Every time I looked at her chest dipping up and down, struggling for air, my heart hurt.
One of the areas I’m most excited about in Our DIY House is our kitchen. I love to cook and bake and the kitchen is where we often spend time together as a little family.
I’ve always loved classic, white cottage kitchens, but I also like to be creative and think a little outside of the box.
