The fact that Little C is starting kindergarten in just over a month just hit me like a brick last night. I’ve been really excited up until now (and so is she), but suddenly I’m feeling terribly melancholy about the whole situation. We’re already half way through summer, I have some back-to-school tutorials lined up for next week already (gah!), and my baby is going to be gone for two or three whole days a week. I’m excited. No, I’m so sad. No, I’m thrilled. Actually, I’m going to miss her so much! I’m a mess, and I didn’t think I would be.

As I was Pinning back-to-school DIY ideas last night, I was crying. Just a little. I was also thinking that we need to seize the rest of the summer and spend as much family time together as we possibly can! We need to continue our beach trips, take a trip to the zoo, do more bike riding and spend more time with friends. I’m slowly coming out of the “I have three kids now?!” haze, and I think I can manage to do these things this coming month – the last month of summer before Kindergarten.

So, before the back-to-school frenzy starts, I want to remember to drink every last bit of this summer in with my girls – especially with my five year old darling.
