I had the pleasure of previewing one of Oliver + S‘s adorable new fall sewing patterns this last week as part of a Sew Mama Sew challenge. Oliver + S are known for their contemporary children’s clothing sewing patterns – they’re always so cute, classic, and simple to sew!

I was given this sweet Playtime Dress, Tunic & Leggings pattern to review and sew up for my Baby A. She’s almost 22 months old, and I sewed a size 18-24 months tunic and leggings which fit her just right.

(First off, I can barely handle how cute she is in this little top and leggings. She’s like a full-blown toddler – not a baby any more!)

The pattern was sent to me digitally, so all I had to do was print it off on my home printer and cut & tape the pieces together. It was easy!

(For whatever reason, I missed a piece on the back yoke when I was assembling the pattern, so I made up for it with a piece of contrasting fabric for the button band… which I actually really like!)

The tunic is really simple, but it has some fun details like a faux peter pan collar and pockets. I was excited to use one of my favourite fabrics (Riley Blake Little Matryoshka Dolls Cream from Fabric.com) for this project. For the leggings, I used a rayon knit jersey in a coordinating chocolate brown.

The leggings were a breeze to sew – I love sewing one-piece leggings! The whole outfit was done in an evening and I can see it being a fall wardrobe staple for Baby A. It’s adorable, comfortable, and I can tell she feels like a little princess in it.

Thanks Sew Mama Sew & Oliver + S for sending this pattern over to me! We love it. Interested in seeing what the other talented seamstresses in this challenge made? Here they are:
