Little C’s Christmas Bedroom Decor Idea

Christmas is a time of wonder for little ones, and I wanted to surprise my sweet 7 year old by giving her pink, shabby chic bedroom a Christmas makeover with a magical, fairy tale theme. She adores anything to do with fairies, unicorns, and the colour pink, so I thought this would be the perfect theme for her room this season.

With the help of some gorgeous Christmas decorations from Marks and Spencer, we transformed Little C’s room into a Christmas wonderland complete with a beautiful, flocked Christmas tree.

How to Decorate a Flocked Christmas Tree

The star of this room is this gorgeous Christmas tree. I started with a 3ft tall flocked tree from Marks and Spencer and placed it on Little C’s night stand. We topped it with a beautifully beaded snowflake tree topper in a lovely silver colour.

The first step to decorate any Christmas tree is to give it a good fluff. Make sure all of the branches are straight and separated for the rest. It’s also a good idea to come up with a strong theme for your tree. Here, we’re sticking to colours of pink, silver, gold and white with a fairy tale theme.

Next, it’s time to string the lights. I recommend stringing them up and down on the tree rather than spiraling them around the tree. This will give your lights a more even look and it’s much easier to hang them this way.

The next step is adding the ribbon or garland. Don’t be afraid to get a little creative! For this flocked tree, we wanted it to look extra snowy and magical. To get a snowy effect, I carefully cut some long, textured faux fur fabric into 2″ wide strips.

The trick to cutting faux fur? Try to cut only the backing and not the fur to make the fabric look its best.

I wrapped this furry garland around the tree from the top to the bottom, tucking it deep into the tree and resting it on the branches so that it looked like it could be snow. I just love the effect and I think this is a great way to make a flocked tree look extra snowy and full!

Blush pink, silver and white ornaments

I was so inspired when I found these sparkly, magical Christmas tree ornaments from Mark and Spencer. Aren’t they so delicate and beautiful?

I find that the best way to add ornaments to a Christmas tree is to start with the large ones and then work your way to the smallest ornaments. I rest the large ornaments in the tree where I want them to sit, and then put the ribbon loop hanger over a branch.

Once all of the large ornaments are on the tree, fill in the rest of the tree with small ornaments in your colour scheme. Spread the colours evenly throughout the tree, and make sure to step back every now and then to admire your work and see if you need to change anything.

I like to put a tree skirt on at the very end so that it doesn’t get messy. Here, I used a DIY arm knit scarf as a sweet, mini tree skirt. You could also use a large furry blanket or a traditional tree skirt.

Some sweetly wrapped gifts in white and pink complete the look.

I made this room extra special by laying out Little C’s favourite pink dress on her bed so that she could wear it when she saw her newly decorated Christmas space.

A deliciously soft, white faux fur blanket keeps the room cozy and festive along with some angel wings and some DIY throw pillows in whites, golds and pinks.

When Little C saw her newly decorated room, she gasped with delight! I was really hoping for this reaction, and she did not disappoint.

She helped me finish decorating her Christmas tree and she peeked inside the adorable wooden village advent calendar that I perched on her vanity.

  1. All of the girliness and pink in this room makes me so jealous you have daughters. As much fun as my boys are, we just seem to lack the sparkles, pink, and unicorns! This is so beautiful.

  2. I loved it, so precious for a little girl. We do not have a Marks and Spencer’s here in Ottawa anymore, we miss it! So it’s great to see some of their products, used to be only food and clothing!
