My girls are really looking forward to Easter this year! Easter Sunday is always a special day for us – we go to church in the morning together, and then we usually have a big family dinner in the afternoon followed by an Easter basket and egg hunt. Little C and Little A are at such a perfect age to enjoy all of these fun traditions!

10 Easy & Creative Easter Egg Hunt Ideas

This year, I thought it would be exciting to change up our egg hunt a little, so I researched some easy and creative ideas for unique Easter egg hunts. Want to try something a little different this year when you hide eggs for the kiddos? Here are some fun ideas!

  1. Colour Coded Egg Hunt
Choose a different colour of egg for each child and have them search only for “their colour”.
  2. Countdown to Easter Hunt
Hide an egg (candy or not) for each child that they hunt for each day leading up to Easter Sunday. This could be for a few days, a week, a couple of weeks… you decide!
  3. Community Easter Egg Hunt
Invite your family, friends and neighbors to take part in a community easter egg hunt! Have friends help you hide them all, and then have a big potluck afterwards!
  4. Scavenger/Nature Hunt
Make a list of different types of eggs for your littles to find. Or, combine an egg hunt with a Spring nature hunt and add Spring nature finds to your list!
  5. Treasure Map Egg Hunt
Hide the Easter eggs, and then draw a map for your kids to follow to find them. You could have everyone dress up like pirates and have a treasure-hunting party!
  6. Night Time Easter Egg Hunt
For older children, you could hide and hunt for the eggs at dusk or at night and use flashlights for an extra challenge.
  7. Puzzle Egg Hunt
Hide one puzzle piece in each plastic egg, and have your children make a puzzle with you after all of the eggs are found.
  8. Golden Egg Hunt
Include one golden egg amongst the other Easter eggs hidden. The person who finds the golden egg gets a special treat, or gets to share a special treat with everyone!
  9. Reverse Easter Egg Hunt
Have your kiddos hide some eggs for YOU to find! They’ll have a blast hiding them and giggle as you try to locate their secret hiding spots.
  10. “Bunny Bucks” Egg Hunt
Hide pretend money in plastic eggs, and let your children cash it in after the egg hunt for some Easter-themed prizes at the end. Here’s a free “Bunny Bucks” printable from Mother’s Niche.

10 Easy & Creative Easter Egg Hunt Ideas

Here’s a tasty (and simple!) idea for your Easter egg hunt this year: buy a Kinder® Egg Hunt Kit! We got to try one out this year (along with some other wonderfully delicious Kinder® treats) and it included full sized Kinder® Surprise Eggs, smaller candies, and enough little chocolate eggs to make an Easter egg hunt in our forest perfectly ready for my two girls.

(And, yes, I did request that Mommy have some too.)

Once again, Kinder® has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network and will be providing 12 baskets to  CMN hospitals.  As well, Kinder® will be donating another $25,000 to help support this non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America.

Thanks for making our Easter celebration extra yummy this year, Kinder®!
