It’s nearing the end of 2020 (hooray!), and today I’m sharing the most popular blog posts of the year here on The DIY Mommy along with your favourite DIY videos on The DIY Mommy YouTube channel!
This year was an interesting year for everyone, to say the least. Despite the weirdness of this year, my blog and YouTube channel have been more visited than ever. 2020 was the year that we wanted more ideas to make our homes feel like a cozy, welcoming haven and I was happy to help you do that. I’m thankful for YOU, my readers and friends – without YOU, I would not be encouraged to create, photograph and write as much as I do. I really, truly appreciate you.
Sharing their best blog posts of 2020 with me today are some of my favourite blogging friends. Make sure to visit their posts linked at the bottom of this blog!
From the 10th most visited to the first, here were your top 10 favourite blog posts from The DIY Mommy in 2020:
You all love easy organization ideas, and this round-up post featured some of my favourites! I’m not a natural organizer by nature, but I’ve realized that even my simplistic style of cleaning & organizing can be valuable. I’ll keep sharing easy home hacks in 2021!
Here’s another organization post that you loved! This one was fun and challenging because while my IKEA kitchen pantry has lovely pull-outs, it’s still quite small. Using inexpensive storage bins, DIY labels and upcycled containers I was able to organize this small pantry on a budget.
Budget-friendly decorating was really important this year, and it was such a great challenge to give our master bedroom a refresh using only items I already had on hand. A DIY bench made of scrap wood and a pillow made of scrap fabric were the highlights of this makeover.
Our RV renovation was my personal favourite project this year, and I was so happy to see that you enjoyed it too! It was another small space makeover, and I loved that I was able to make such an impact with paint and inexpensive decor accents. I can’t wait to start working on the bathroom and main bedroom makeover in the RV in 2021.
You love organization AND you love free printables! This post was a combination of the two, and I’ll definitely share more free printables this coming year for you.
Who would have thought that DIY face masks would be a thing in 2020?! Certainly not me. However, I’m so pleased that you found this how-to post helpful as you sewed your own masks this year.
I love our IKEA kitchen, and many of you were interested to see how it’s held up for the last 7+ years. In this post, I put everything you need to know if you plan to install your own IKEA kitchen.
Here’s another how-to tutorial that did so well this year! Peel & stick tile is a budget-friendly, easy-to-install alternative to traditional tile and I explained exactly how to install it.
This small entry makeover was another personal favourite project of mine. You loved the fact that it included an IKEA hack, and that it could be used in a variety of small spaces.
This comprehensive Cricut blog post was your #1 favourite blog post this year, and I was so surprised! You loved that I answered so many questions you have about the Cricut machine. I tried to make this as detailed but as to-the-point as possible and it sure paid off. There will be more Cricut tutorials coming in 2021!
And let’s not forget about your video favourites on YouTube! There was a lot of crossover, but a few unique pieces of content that were popular over there.
Here were the top 10 DIY projects on The DIY Mommy YouTube channel, some personal thoughts, and plans for 2021 DIY projects:
For 2021, I would like my DIY & decor content to focus on: budget-friendly room makeovers, comprehensive how-to tutorials, small spaces, organization, thrift flips, sustainable/reusable decor, Cricut projects, IKEA hacks and free printables.
