For my Christmas themed DIY today, I decided to create three different Christmas wreaths with a glamourous look:

Faux Fur Glam Christmas Wreath

The first one is a faux fur wreath made with a styrofoam wreath form, white eyelash yarn from the Dollar Tree, brooches, faux greenery and black and white striped cotton ribbon.

Neutral buffalo check grapevine Christmas wreath idea

The second one is a neutral grapevine Christmas wreath featuring a grapevine base, black & white buffalo check ribbon, faux greenery and faux white peonies from Michaels, and gold Christmas balls from the Dollar Tree.

Glam Christmas Wreath from Ikea Picture Frame

The final wreath was created using an old Ikea picture frame as a base and hanging gold Christmas balls from its top with thin black velvet ribbon. I used a discount Halloween bow in black and white stripes from Michaels to finish it off.

Here I explain how to make the first wreath featured. This is a faux fur wreath made with a styrofoam wreath form,
white eyelash yarn from the Dollar Tree, brooches, faux greenery and black and white striped cotton ribbon.

Materials

  • Styrofoam wreath form
  • White fuzzy yarn from the Dollar Tree
  • White eyelash yarn from the Dollar Tree
  • Brooches
  • Faux greenery
  • Black and white striped cotton ribbon

Tools

  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Use hot glue to tack the end of the white fuzzy yarn onto the foam wreath form. Wrap the yard around the entire wreath, making sure you keep the yarn close together so none of the foam shows. Tack down your yarn with hot glue every 10 twists or so.
  2. When the entire wreath is wrapped with yarn, clip it with your scissors and tack the end down using hot glue.
  3. Repeat these steps with the white eyelash yarn. You do not need to wrap it quite as tightly, as the foam is already covered. Leave a half inch or inch space between each wrap.
  4. Fluff the newly wrapped wreath form gently with your hand, to increase the fur look of the yarn.
  5. Hot glue the greenery to the bottom of your wreath.
  6. Cut a small length of ribbon and wrap it once around the very bottom of the wreath, securing it at the back with hot glue.
  7. Make a large bow out of the same ribbon. Put a dab of hot glue on the back of it, then tack it to the ribbon you already attached to the wreath.
  8. To create pretty ends for your bow, fold the ends in half and cut them off diagonally.
  9. Take brooches and attach to the rest of your wreath, either with wire backing or hot glue, depending on the style of brooch.
  10. Finally, take a brooch and attach it using hot glue to the centre of your bow on the bottom of your wreath.

  1. I really look forward to seeing your blog in my email. Thank you so much for the great ideas.

I am going to re-do my guest room very similar to yours. I am going to use the wall mural in the bright colors instead of the blush mural.

I love all your practical ideas for the home. Thanks for the inspiration,
