Baby A turned 2 last month, and we had a super-fun party to celebrate! It was a “bake shoppe” themed party with lots of colourful, cupcake decor and toddler baking activities.

For lunch, everyone got to prepare their own mini pizza and for dessert, they each decorated some sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles… true bake shop style!

My mom made every guest a sweet little apron so that they felt like official chefs and bakers. (My girls’ aprons were made by me with this tutorial.)

I set up this cute market stand (from Melissa & Doug), covered the awning with pink fabric and placed play cupcakes and cookies on it for the little girls to play with:

Our kitchen table was covered with white kraft paper so that everyone could colour to their heart’s content when they arrived.

The dessert table was decked with cupcakes, treat bags, jelly beans, and signs honouring our dear Little A!

I found these adorable printable party elements from Printastic Design. As soon as I saw this set, I instantly knew that its colours and theme would be perfect for A’s party!

I used the banner graphics, the signs, the cupcake wrappers & toppers, the bottle wrappers, the signs and the treat bag printables from the “cupcake” package. They were are so adorable!

I think it’s so neat how inexpensive and gorgeous printables like this can really pull a party together.

The morning of the party, I caught Baby A attempting to sneak a sugary pink cupcake from her dessert table:

What a sweet, guilty smile. She seemed to really enjoy her little party(and all of the sweets)!

  1. Wow! You did an amazing job! I love the theme and that picture of baby A stealing the cupcake! Too cute.. Before I know it I’ll be planning my Abbys 2nd birthday *tear*.. Love their ‘Sweet Blooms’ package as well as the ‘Hot Air Balloon’.. So much cute!

  2. What a cute party and the birthday girl is just adorable. My youngest granddaughter will be turning 2 years old in Feb and these would be wonderful for her little party. She and her parents are living with us so this would be great. I LOVE the Little Ponies package.

  3. Too cute!! I just love the little aprons, especially the cupcake fabric ones! I may have to make myself one with that fabric. . . =)

I would totally do a bake shop or ice cream shop themed party for my own little A! And the Rock party theme is exactly what my big C wants for his next birthday. (I totally just realized that we have kids with the exact same initials!)

I’m super-impressed that you managed to pull this off while pregnant, BTW. I know how tired you’ve been. Great job!

  4. That party is so precious! I love all the little touches that brought it together and made everything feel special, like the cupcake picks and all the little girls getting their own apron! I’m entered in the contest for my own downloadables, and I’m admiring the Blast Off theme!

didn’t want them to do that, I don’t think there’s any reason whatever why in the United States.
