A Simple Gold & Natural Christmas Table

Published: Dec 23, 2013 · Modified: Dec 23, 2013 by Christina Dennis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 2 Comments

I've probably said it about a hundred times already, so I apologize in advance: I'm so excited for the first Christmas in our new house! So far, the Christmas season here has not disappointed me. We've had roaring fires in our fireplace, cookie baking sprees in our new kitchen, and enough room to spend snow days comfortably inside.

This will be the first year ever that I'm hosting my family's Christmas Day dinner, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm prepping a really traditional turkey and potatoes type of meal, and it feels so wonderful to finally have room to host big dinners like this! The menu and my tablescape will be quite simple but festive. I'm madly in love with sparkling golds and natural elements for Christmas decor, and my table setting reflects that.

I didn't spend a lot on my table decor. The centerpiece is a faux Christmas tree I found at Michael's last week for 70% off (I changed the ribbon and added some gold oraments and glittery pine cones - both 70% off from Home Depot).

The table is a DIY hand-me-down from my mom (her and my dad built it using some antique oak legs) and I covered it with a damask white tablecloth that was also my mom's.

The simple white plates were also a gift from my mom. She and my grandma both think that every woman needs a large set of white Corel dishes, and I think they're absolutely right! How classic and timeless they are on pretty gold chargers (that I found on clearance at Michael's for 40 cents each after Thanksgiving). The linen napkins were a quick DIY, and I chopped off some pine branches from my backyard for yummy-smelling decorations.

I think this will be a lovely place for my family to share the first Christmas Day meal in our home. I simply can't wait to spend the day here - right here in our home surrounded by the people I love.

From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas! May you enjoy the day with your family and friends and surrounded by the hope, peace, joy and love that Jesus brings.

    Merry Christmas!
