This past Sunday, I spent a lovely afternoon with my beautiful little sister, my mom, and our friends celebrating my sister’s wedding coming up soon! My mom hosted a “vintage craft & tea” bridal shower in honour of my sister and it was so much fun. It was a simple event, but the food and decor was perfect and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Instead of gifts, guests were asked to bring vintage tea cups, books or brooches for my sister to use in her wedding decor. We’re going to use them for fun centerpieces at the reception. She received so many beautiful and meaningful keepsakes and the guests seemed to enjoy finding and giving the vintage finds to my sister.

My wonderfully talented mother decorated the tables with sweet mini rose plants in lace Ikea plant pots. We used vintage tea cups to serve tea in, and antique silver trays to serve food on.

My mom made these darling mini rose cupcakes:

I didn’t even want to eat them, they were so adorable! She used a technique similar to mine for icing roses on cupcakes and she added little leaves. I also loved how she added doilies onto the silver trays for extra vintage flair!

For entertainment, guests were invited to make fabric flowers (just like the ones we’ve made for the wedding so far) for use in the wedding decor, and we also potted some Hens & Chicks plants near the end of the shower. These will be my sister’s wedding favours:

We had a lot of extras of these guys, so I took some home and I can’t wait to share with you what I did with them! They’re just so darn cute.

My sister was dressed so beautifully – she looked like a lovely 1920’s darling in her cream lace dress and mint jewels. The colours of her wedding are blush & mint, so the shower colours sort of echoed these. She also tried on her wedding dress for all of the guests, and I simply can’t wait to share it with you. It’s absolutely stunning and my mom custom made the entire thing!

The wedding is in a few weeks, and we’re still working on a few more DIY’s as the event gets closer. It’s been a blast helping my little sis get ready for this special occasion. Her wedding will be fantastic, and I’m so excited for her!
