Ever since we renovated our master bedroom last year, it’s become my retreat after a long day of mom-ing and working. With a few easy additions, I’ve turned it into a warm & cozy spot to curl up in during our (rather cold!) Autumn and Winter seasons. Here’s how you can cozy up your own bedroom this month:
Pile on the Layers
While a Spring & Summer bed can be dressed lightly and simply (see our summer bed here), bedding layers can be added for warmth in the Fall and Winter months. Add a soft chenille blanket, quilt and down duvet in neutral colours for easy mix-and-match layering.
Warm up the Textiles
Adding textiles like faux furs, quilted cottons, heavy linens and warm chenilles will make your bedroom feel instantly ready for the colder months. Adding some textiles in slightly darker colours than you would in the summer can help make your room feel cozier, too.
Up the Mood Lighting
Having candles on trays or on bedside tables adds a gentle warmth to a bedroom. You could also consider using fairly lights in jars or cloches as mood lighting that will take you into the Holiday season.
Embrace Seasonal Florals
Adding a bouquet of gorgeous, seasonal flowers like these gorgeous Hydrangeas from FTD will make your bedroom feel elegant and Fall-ready. There’s nothing quite like the look and smell of a real floral arrangement, and this Joyful Inspirations Bouquet by Vera Wang from FTD is definitely no exception! Aren’t these blooms spectacular? Hydrangeas always make me think of early Fall, and having them at our bedside is such a treat.
Fresh, meaningful bouquets are always a wonderful way to celebrate any occasion or special person in your life, but they’re also perfect for simply celebrating the change in seasons in your home. FTD’s bouquets are locally handmade and delivered by your FTD florist – we got this one in record time!

(Bonus tip: Add a hot drink station on a bedside table or tray – I’ll share more about ours later this week!)
