Elegant colour scheme of silver, white and green

For the Christmas colour scheme in our dining room this year, I went with shades of green mixed with metallic silver and gold. There’s something so elegant and classic about this color combination, and I love how it looks. Greens are incorporated through the greenery garland, the IKEA throw pillow and my vintage wine glasses. Silver sparkles as ornaments on the tree, my mirror, and some mercury glass trees on the sideboard.

How to style a dining room table for Christmas

I like to make my Christmas tables look beautiful, but I also like to keep them simple. A faux greenery garland down the center of the table adds instant Holiday Cheer, and so do these simple napkins folded into bow shapes. (Watch my video above to see how!) A beautifully set table can truly take center stage in your dining room Christmas decor, and choosing shades of green, white and gold for your settings is always a good choice. Here, I’m staking a soft green plate on a larger white plate, and placing both on a textured white charger to make each setting feel special.

Dining room Christmas tree

Can you put a Christmas tree in the dining room?! You sure can!! I do it every year and I love how it adds magic and sparkle to the room. I’ve decorated this flocked tree with simple white and silver ornaments.

  1. Always elegant!
It’s a bit harder to bring in Christmas into our fulltime home (rv)
My husband likes everything to be dual purpose leaving me little opportunities for ‘cutesy decor’ unfortunately. I now have a pencil Christmas tree and hope to add a green small wreath on my cupboard doors.
I enjoy looking through your Christmas decorating ideas. Please share ( I couldn’t find ) the tutorial for the book page stars * on your dining room tree.
    Thank you
