These rich but delicate maple pecan tassies are a delicious addition to your Christmas cookie roster this year! They look like tiny tarts, and taste like a cross between a shortbread cookie and a slice of pecan pie. The addition of maple syrup is the perfect compliment to the pecans!
Recipe type: Dessert
Serves: 24 cookies
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 3 oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • icing sugar (optional)
  1. Whip together the butter and cream cheese in a medium bowl until combined. Stir in the flour (I like to use my hands at the end).
  2. Press 1 heaping teaspoon of pastry into the bottoms and sides of each cup of a mini cupcake pan.
  3. Combine egg, brown sugar, maple syrup and butter in a small bowl. Stir in the pecans, and spoon evenly into the pastry lined muffin cups.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 325 degrees F or until the pastry is slightly browned. Makes 24 cookies.
