One of my favourite spots in our home to decorate for Christmas is our fireplace mantel. It's the hub of our living room, and it's also something we designed and built very carefully when we built our home. (You can see how we built our mantel here.) This Christmas, I opted for neutral colored decor on our mantel, but there's still lots of texture and interest. Today I wanted to share some Christmas mantel decorating tricks with you - I hope you find these useful!
I like to start with a focal point when I'm decorating my mantel for any season. In this case, I designed some large artwork and framed it. You can find this free artwork to download for your own mantel here on my Christmas home tour post.
Next, I anchor the mantel decor with a pair of items on each side of the mantel. Here, I've opted for two lit faux trees but I've loved using lanterns in the past!
Our stockings are handmade, and you can find the free pattern and tutorial here.
