Learn how to make a professional looking mood board for your interior design or home decor project in Photoshop. Creating a mood board for your room makeover will help start your project off right and organize your colour scheme, potential furniture & accessory choices, and fabric choices.

How to Make an Interior Design Mood Board in Photoshop

A common question I get asked is: "How did you make that mood board??" Today I'm sharing all my secrets in my latest YouTube video, and showing you how I create mood boards for my room makeovers with my favourite graphics program: Photoshop.

If you don't have Photoshop, you can try other photo editing programs like Canva or Adobe Spark. They'll have similar tools, and the method should be close to what I do in Photoshop.

How to Make an Interior Design Mood Board in Photoshop

Creating a mood board is one of the first things I do when I'm putting a new space together or renovating an old one. It helps me stay on track when I'm looking for textiles, paint colours, furniture an accessories for the room.

The mood board above is for a makeover we're doing on our basement play room, and I can't wait to share more details on this makeover plus the finished space with you soon! I'm loving this combination of modern farmhouse with bright colours and playful accessories.
