Make a DIY Spring Tray from a Shadow Box

Learn how to make a sweet DIY serving tray from a clearance shadow box frame, patterned paper, Mod Podge and inexpensive utility handles. This sweet floral tray would be a fabulous addition to your Spring decor this year!
This DIY project is really simple, and I think it turned out so sweet looking! It’s part of a trio of Spring inspired home decor DIY ideas that I’m sharing on my YouTube channel today, and you can watch the video below:
To make this Spring tray, I found a shadow box with the glass removed in the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby (when we were on vacation in Florida!). I adhered some pretty floral “project paper” to the backing of the shadow box (found in the clearance aisle at JoAnn on the same trip) with Mod Podge, sealed it with another layer of Mod Podge when it was dry, and secured it to the back of the shadow box with some screws.
Finally, I attached some simple brass pulls on to either side of my new tray with screws and a drill. I found these “utility pulls” in the utility hardware section of Home Depot and they were only around $3 each. So pretty!
I truly love easy but pretty upcycles like this, and now I simply can’t wait for Spring.

This is a sweet and simple project and I think I will mimic it on some old boring trays I have. Once a year I drive to the states and laugh because Hobby Lobby and Joann’s are destination stops for me. lol Glad to see I am not the only one.
