These glittery cinnamon stick Christmas tree ornaments are so sparkly and pretty, plus they smell divine! Here’s a fun and festive project that you can do with your child:
I came across the idea to make star ornaments from cinnamon sticks over at A Pretty Life via Pinterest – how brilliant is she?!
Then, I found some fun glitter paint at Staples so that my girls could get involved and make the stars sparkle.
All you need to make these is some cinnamon sticks (or use paper straws cut in half), a glue gun, some sparkle paint and some ribbon or twine.
Follow the directions found here on A Pretty Life to make a star shape from the cinnamon sticks with your glue gun (I used really big globs of glue).
Once they’re cool, have your child go to town with glitter paint and paint them!
When the glitter paint is dry, cut a piece of ribbon or twine about 6 inches long, and tie it to the ornament so that you can hang it. We used sparkly (of course) wired organza ribbon.
If you don’t have cinnamon sticks on hand, or don’t want to use them, you can also make these with paper straws cut in half like we did:
