More than ever, I'm looking forward to our Christmas break this year. 2016 was full of amazing opportunities and precious memories, but I'm admittedly exhausted and ready to rest with my dear family. This will be my last blog post of 2016, and I thought I'd take the chance to share with you our family's plans for a cozy, restful holiday and some of our family photos from this year!

In blogging, and in any field of work I'm sure, it's easy to get caught up in the "do, do, do!" and the "go, go, go!". It's easy to get caught up in the busy-ness and pursue it a little too much.
Our kids get two weeks off of school starting this Christmas weekend, and I want to be fully present for them. I simply can't wait to do all of the relaxing things we have planned together to make our Christmas holidays feel cozy and relaxing.
Here are some of the things on our Holiday to-do list:
Enjoy Some Classic Snow Activities Outside
Oh, I hope it snows some more this Christmas because we hardly have any this year! If and when it does, we're looking forward to some good ol' fashioned tobagganing and hopefully some skating on our town's little pond.
Read Lots of Books
Currently Little C and I are working our way through Anne of Green Gables (one of my FAVES!), and I hope we can finish it over our break. Then, we'll watch the movie and see how it follows the book. With my two littler ones, we'll read their favourite pre-schooler books and I want to help Little A work on her reading skills.
Sew, Crochet & Knit with the Kids
This Christmas break will be the perfect time to work on Little C's sewing skills and teach her how to crochet. I can't wait! I'd love to try to teach the younger girls to do some finger knitting, or maybe hand-sewing. I have so many good memories of my mom and Grandma teaching me how to do handicrafts, and I hope to continue the tradition!
Cuddle by the Fireplace
Ever since we rearranged our living room and took the TV to the basement, our fireplace has become even more of a feature. We've already enjoyed several fires this season, and I can't wait to have even more this Christmas break.
Lately, we've been using Duraflame firelogs in our fireplace and they've made it even easier to have warm, cozy fires whenever we want! I love their Crackleflame log because of the soothing sound it makes; it's so relaxing.
All you need to do to start a fire with a Duraflame firelog is set it in your fireplace, light the wrapper in the labeled spots, and watch it burn for hours. These logs also burn cleaner than wood and they're made with renewable resources which furthers our energy efficiency goal for our home.
Be Together
I simply want to spend time with my girls and my husband. I want to study my daughters' little faces and remember every curve of their profile and every wrinkle on their nose. I want to giggle and talk and sing and play with them. Whether it's baking cookies or singing songs before bedtime, I simply want to BE together.
Tell me: What's on YOUR Christmas break to-do list?
Thank you for reading my blog this year and for following along on my crafty decorating journey. I truly hope that you found some inspiration and ideas here this year, and I can't wait to continue sharing things with you in 2017! See you in January!
From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed and happy New Year.
