On The Front Porch: Getting to Know Me

July 29, 2015 By Christina Dennis 1 Comment

Recently, Porch.com “sat down with me” (in a virtual sort of way) and asked me some fun questions about myself and my blog and I was happy to share my answers! You can read the first 8 questions + answers over at Porch.com, and here are the rest:

If your life were a song, what would it be?

The Sound of Music? There’s never a quiet moment in our house. There’s always a girl (or me) belting out a tune (whether it’s a real one or a made up one)!

Pinterest or Facebook?

Pinterest! PIN ALL THE THINGS. We built our whole house based on Pins.

If your walls could only be painted one color for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?

White. I love colour, so that sounds weird. However, if my walls are white I can go CRAZY with colourful furniture, window coverings and accessories and change them whenever I want.

Gray, Brown, Teal / Turquoise Living Room

What are you exceptionally good at? (Permission to brag)

I’d like to think I’m good at designing things whether it’s a room in a house or a logo. I took graphic design in college and LOVED it!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve collected?

I admit that I collected ceramic cats when I was little. I had a really amazing collection of felines on my windowsill.

Show us your best project for a DIY beginner!

Anyone can put together these fun gifts in tins.

A creative gift basket idea: Spa Day in a Tin! Put a candle, eye pillow, epsom salts, nail files and a Google Play card in a pretty tin - comes with free printable tags and labels.

What’s a home trend you hope doesn’t exist in 100 years?

Wall-to-wall carpet. Thinking about how dirty it gets makes me feel faint! I’m more of an area rug girl.

Favorite words to live by?

“Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” (from Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery)
