I’ve wanted a gallery wall around our TV for quite some time now. We have a giant TV in our living room, and the wall behind it was completely bare. For less than $50 and over a few nap times, I managed to put up some art that I love!
I used picture frames I already had, and printed some artwork I designed to put inside them. I picked up the old window frame at a garage sale and pinned some lace scraps to it. I found the vintage looking keys at a decor store, and I glued them onto some drop cloth fabric in frames.
I planned the layout of the wall using my illustration program on my computer, and then bought inexpensive pieces to fill in the holes that were left after I used what I already had (the clock and the “D” monogram are new).
The wooden D is from Bouncing Off The Walls. I stained it with Minwax Ebony, painted some turquoise chalk paint over it, and sanded it to distress.
My neighbor gave me an old chair, and I had some fun with it by spraying the legs gold, taping them off and then painting the rest with turquoise chalk paint. I still need to reupholster the seat, but a fluffy pillow does the job for now.
This wall makes me so happy now – it’s pretty, personal, and it was inexpensive to do. Just the way I like my DIY’s!
