Our Cozy Fall Living Room with Simple Mantel Decor

Published: Sep 11, 2019 · Modified: Dec 26, 2022 by Christina Dennis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 20 Comments

Come take a tour of our cozy Fall living room this year decorated in soft shades of gold and deep teal with a simple & elegant mantel.

This project is part of the Seasonal Simplicity blog hop hosted by The Happy Housie, so after you read my post make sure to see all of the other beautiful Fall mantels linked at the bottom!

This year, I decided to go a little bit rich & colourful with our Fall decor. You might have seen my extra-colourful Fall dining room already, and our living room echoes that space with it's teal and amber/gold tones.

You can see the space take shape from start to finish by watching my YouTube video below:

I kept the decor nicely budget-friendly by using mostly what I had on hand and adding a few new, inexpensive textiles like a mustard coloured throw and colourful DIY pillows from napkins.

As for the mantel, I had this gold & aqua autumn tree painting (from The Brick last year) stored for almost a year, and I was just itching to pull it out for Fall!

Because the colours of the art were so perfect for my decor scheme this season and I wanted it to be the star of the show, I kept the other elements of the mantel simple.

I draped a faux eucalyptus garland I had on hand over the mantel, and then stuffed some dried grasses and a little Fall foliage into the garland. Some aqua coloured candle sticks were the perfect finishing touch.

On the coffee table, I added some candles, some books I covered with vintage doilies, more faux florals, and my half-done knitting. I swear I'm going to finish that sweater one day!

For a final touch in our living room, I added a couple of handmade teal velvet pillows with exposed copper zippers (I'll share the tutorial for those soon!) to my arm chairs.

I'm so pleased with how warm and cozy looking our Fall living room and mantel decor looks, and happy I didn't have to spend an arm and a leg to make it look lovely for the season!

Love! Can I ask where you got your coffee table and those lovely green glass candle holders?

Hi! The coffee table is the Keir Coffee Table with Casters from the Brick: https://www.thebrick.com/products/keir-coffee-table-with-casters
I think she got those green glass candle holders at the thrift store.
