One of the questions that I get asked the most about our home is what paint colours we’ve used. Today I thought I’d compile a list of all of the paint colours we have in our home just in case you want to try them in your home, too!

Just don’t forget that these colours might look different in your home – I always recommend buying a sample pot of a paint colour and doing a test swatch on your wall before committing. You can find all of my tips on choosing paint right here.

We’re approaching the 5 year anniversary of Our DIY House (I can’t believe we finished building it almost 5 years ago?!), so I’ll be sharing some more blog posts this summer about our home and how we’ve liked it so far.

Now onto the paint colours!

Exterior Door Paint Colours:

For almost 8 years, our front door was  Gypsy Teal by Valspar –  a very bold, vibrant colour! In 2020, I repainted it a very soft aqua colour called, “Dreaming of the Day” by Cloverdale and I can’t decide which I love more! The interior side of the door is painted Noir by Valspar.

Modern Farmhouse Living Room Paint Colours:

Most of the walls on our main floor are Seashell Grey by Valspar. It’s a very light grey with glowing, slightly green undertones.

The upper part of the fireplace wall in our living room is a rich charcoal colour called Shades On by Behr.

The board & batten wall and trim in our living room is Whisper White by Behr. It’s white enough to contrast the light grey we have on the walls. I’m slowly transitioning all of the trim in our house to this colour because it’s a beautiful, slightly warm white but it’s not too creamy – this is my absolute favourite white

Kitchen Nook Paint Colours:

The kitchen breakfast nook is more Seashell grey, and the trim in here is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. This is another white that I love that’s also only very slightly warm, but it is a little greener and creamier than the Whisper White by Behr.

Modern Farmhouse Dining Room Paint Colours:

Our dining room is a combination of Distant Valley by Valspar (I LOVE this blue/grey/green) and (of course!) Whisper White by Behr on the board & batten and trim.

Kids’ Bedroom Paint Colors:

Little C’s bedroom is Prelude to Pink by Cloverdale, which is the perfect blush pink.

Little A’s bedroom currently has a deep teal feature wall in Cloverdale’s Atlantic Waves, the rest of the room is Sweet Ariel. The vintage screen is Dreaming of the Day – which is the same shade as my front door!

Before little A’s Rich & Magical Bedroom, it was painted aqua, called Mystic Sea by Valspar

Kids Bathroom:

The Kids Bathroom is painted in Mystic Sea by Valspar as well.

Master Bedroom Paint Colors:

Our bedroom is a beautiful, light warm grey called Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore, and we have Simply White by Benjamin Moore on the trim. Our master bathroom is a combination of Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore and French Roast by Cloverdale on an accent wall – it’s a striking, warm black.

  1. Christina, when I first saw the title of your post; the color ‘teal’ was the first thing that came to my mind. All your colors are amazing. I just wanted to add my opinion on how important lighting is and it really brings colors out.

  2. I simply love the way you did the ceiling in your bedroom! I’m so thankful to have stumbled across your blog. Picking paint colors is such a tiresome trial and error. I live in the country and when we go to the hardware store I was filling grocery sacks with paint chips because they never look the same when you get home with them! So frustrating… Recently, a friend of mine shared this with me when we finally bought a new house. It has been a life savior!! https://bit.ly/2If32uk Enjoy!

    1. Thank you so much, Terry! We’re so glad you enjoyed the article and thank you so much for stopping by!

  3. What sheen do you typically go with for your interior walls when it comes to Behr Whisper White? And yes I too would love to know the outside color of your home. LOVE you and your creativity! Thank YOU for always being willing to share.
