It's time to do another upcycling craft! This shabby chic inspired wreath is made with an old IKEA photo frame and various crafting supplies I had on hand. The romantic style of this wreath reminds me of my old school crafts from years ago, and I'm loving it!

While IKEA doesn't sell these detailed oval picture frames anymore, you might be able to find the same one at a thrift store or on Facebook Marketplace. Alternatively, you can truly use any old picture frame in any shape and size for this wreath craft. The possibilities are endless!

How to make this upcycled DIY Valentine's Day Wreath

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. When you purchase an item via these links, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

First, find an old picture frame to use as your wreath base. I used this elaborate IKEA picture frame I purchased about 10 years ago because I loved all the detail!

Next, arrange some faux flowers on the lower left-hand side of the picture frame and glue them in place with hot glue. These are my favourite faux peonies and I'm using them here.

Then, you can add sprigs of faux greenery and glue them between the flowers. I'm using faux eucalyptus from IKEA.

Next, take 4 wood slices (I'm using these ones) and write X's and O's on them with a permanent marker.

Cut a piece of macrame cord or twine that's a little wider than the picture frame, and clue it to the back of the frame on a diagonal.

To finish the wreath, glue the wood slices to the cord to read "XOXO".

Love your upcycled picture fram wreath. How romantic is that frame and the pink/coral flowers just make it so loving and romantic. The rustic wood slices make it masculine enough for every husband/male to fall in love with the creator. Thanks so much for sharing "how to make old things new again" with this idea.
