A Simple Summer Kitchen Tour

Summer is the time when I feel like stripping all the rooms down in our home to their bare essentials, and then redecorating in a very light and minimal way. In Fall & Winter, I add lots of layers in our decor with throw pillows, blankets and tons of texture, but in summer it’s the opposite! Come take a tour of our simple summer kitchen with new stools from The Brick that are perfect for the season.

The look is bright and clean with minimal decor on the counters and table. Summer is beautiful out here on the prairies, but it also brings so much dirt and dust inside. I like to keep decor accessories to a minimum because I’m not a huge fan of dusting things!

The hutch by our kitchen table features simple white & mint coloured plates along with a couple of my favourite white serving ware and some faux hydrangeas.

The bright pink roses in the vase on the table are right from our garden, and I love decorating with our garden flowers all summer long (just like I did in our dining room)!

These new stools at the island are the Peyton Counter-Height Stools from The Brick. I love them because they’re a little smaller than our previous stools, plus the fact that they’re metal and not fabric helps our kitchen feel lighter & cooler for summer. I love this combo of warm wood and metal to add a little bit of rustic flair to our kitchen, too!

More fresh garden flowers on the island and simple, clean countertops complete our fresh summer look in the kitchen. Now, it’s time to sit back and enjoy this tidy kitchen for the 3 seconds it will remain clean with 3 kids in the house!
