Canada Day S’mores Bar

My daughters were introduced to s’mores only very recently, and now that they’ve tasted these roasted marshmallow sandwiches from heaven, they’re hooked! As a fun surprise for them for this Canada Day long weekend, I thought it would be fun to set up a patriotic s’mores bar on our patio. Here’s how I set up this cute DIY dessert bar, and how you can make your own Canada Day S’mores bar, too!

“Glorious and Free” Printable Art for Canada Day

“God keep our land glorious and free.” It’s one of my favourite lines in our country’s national anthem, and I’m so glad that I get to call Canada my home. It’s my glorious, free home and I never want to take that for granted! Canada is glorious because of its natural beauty – we love our home on the gorgeous Alberta prairies, and we also love visiting our Rocky Mountains to the West. Our Canada is also free. We have freedom of expression, of equality, of speech, of religion, and so much more here. I am thankful to live here, and so happy that we’re able to raise our babies here too. In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday this Saturday, I’m sharing some free printable art with you!Continue reading

DIY “Take Me to the Rockies” Percolator Art (Free SVG Cut File!)

It’s Canada’s 150th birthday this year! One of the ways that I’m celebrating is by joining in on a Canada 150 blog hop with some of my favourite Canadian blogging friends. Visit their Canada themed projects by scrolling to the bottom of this post. Our family is planning to do a lot of traveling this summer with our renovated camper, and we’ll be spending a lot of time in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. We absolutely love the beauty of our mountains, and they’re a spectacular place to visit! Because I know we’ll be mostly camping in the Rockies, I decided to give my camping coffee percolator and upgrade with some custom vinyl art. Here’s how I made this DIY “Take Me to the Rockies” percolator – and there’s a free SVG cut file download for you!Continue reading

I am very proud to be a Canadian girl through and through. I love my country, and I am so blessed to enjoy the freedoms that we can experience here. My brave grandparents left East Germany in WWII to come work in Eastern Canada. They found refuge here, and later they moved west to Alberta to raise their family of 7 children (including my mom, who was born in Lethbridge, Alberta).  I was born in Calgary, Alberta and I now live near Edmonton, Alberta.Continue reading
