A Little Entry Nook Makeover + Free “Happily Ever After” Printable Art

What does your “happily ever after” look like? Ours is full of joy and quintessentially blissful family moments some days, and then on other days we have most certainly had our struggles. But in those moments of stepping and falling and relying on the grace of God to pull us through, I realize that even they – those hard days – are essential pieces of our own Happily Ever After.

I made some artwork for our little entry nook to remind me to savour all of our family’s moments, and I’d like to share it with you for free today. They’re two 8 x 10″ high resolution JPGs that say “Welcome To Our Happily Ever After” on an antique map print. I hope you enjoy them and can find a spot for them in your own home! Click on the little thumbnails below the image to download the two files for yourself.

Valentine’s Day Play Dough Mat Printable (+ Cleaning Our White Table!)

What’s your philosophy when it comes to kids getting messy? I’m pretty relaxed about it. I think it’s fun to squish and smush and sprinkle, so we do A LOT of that at our house. If you come to visit me without a warning, you better believe our home will be littered with toys and our table sticky with play dough and cookie crumbs. I’m trying to get better at having a daily cleaning routine and decluttering our home, but we won’t be stopping getting a little messy every day! It’s so fun! One of our favourite mediums is play dough, so one morning last week we cracked open the dough and I made some fun Valentine’s Day themed play dough mats for the girls.Continue reading

Peace: My 2015 New Year’s Resolutions (+ A Free Printable)

I didn’t write down and New Year’s resolutions last year and I kind of regret it. I know they’re cliche, they’re not usually successful and blah, blah, blah, but there’s something about physically declaring one’s goals that really helps to define a fresh, new beginning. I blogged about my resolutions in 2013, and I thought I’d revisit that idea for this year and do it again. Plus, I missed my annual reflective birthday post this past September like this one and this one. I hope you don’t mind me sharing a little bit of my personal struggles and wishes here today!

DIY Back To School Kitchen Command Centre from Staples + Free Printables

With Little C’s first day of Kindergarten fast approaching, I’m starting to get nervous thinking about how I’m going to stay on top of everything. I’ll be the first to admit that I definitely fall short in the organization and cleanliness categories – I’d much rather be crafting or baking than cleaning or bookkeeping! I’m determined to be more organized this year (I was that mom in playschool that lost everyone’s birthday party invites and forgot to sign all of the field trip forms) and I’ve come up with a fun spot in Our DIY House to help me. With some help from Staples, I’ve transformed the side panel of my fridge into a back-to-school kitchen command center to hold all of my organization tools in one spot. It’s cute looking, it’s functional, and it will help me be more organized this year as we embark on our new journey of school-aged kids.

Free Printable Summer Artwork (& Random Summer Musings)

The fact that Little C is starting kindergarten in just over a month just hit me like a brick last night. I’ve been really excited up until now (and so is she), but suddenly I’m feeling terribly melancholy about the whole situation. We’re already half way through summer, I have some back-to-school tutorials lined up for next week already (gah!), and my baby is going to be gone for two or three whole days a week. I’m excited. No, I’m so sad. No, I’m thrilled. Actually, I’m going to miss her so much! I’m a mess, and I didn’t think I would be.Continue reading
