    Free Nursery Wall Art Printable

Published: Mar 3, 2012 · Modified: Apr 16, 2023 by Christina Dennis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 11 Comments

I had originally heard this old poem from a friend at my first daughter's baby shower - it's a poem I often think of when I'm feeling tired and busy. The precious moments with my children will fly by all too quickly, and the moments spent with them are far more important than any other work I could do.

    Oh cleaning and scrubbing
    will wait till tomorrow,
    but children grow up,
as I’ve learned with my sorrow.
    So quiet down, cobwebs.
    Dust go to sleep.
    I’m rocking my baby.
    Babies don’t keep.
    ~ Ruth Hulbert Hamilton, 1958

Here's a free printable letter-sized piece of artwork for you to hang in your child's nursery to remind you to steal extra snuggles from them whenever you can!

I love this poem, but it's been misquoted here. It's "to my sorrow", not "with my sorrow".
