13 Essential Items in my DIYers Tool Bag

Published: May 1, 2019 by Christina Dennis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 4 Comments

Come see the tools I have in my tool bag for all my DIYs! These are my favourite essentials that help me get the job done whether I'm working on a project at home or on site.

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Kleenex Canada. As always, all of the opinions here are my own.

As a DIY blogger and YouTuber, it's important for me to have good tools to get all of my DIYs done - whether I'm creating a faux floral arrangement or building cabinets. Today I thought it would be fun to give you not only a peek inside my trusty ol' tool bag, but also a peek into my daily life as a work-at-home mom!

My 10 Favourite Items in my Tool Bag

1: Gloves (they protect my hands as I'm working with the tools)

2: Tin Snips (I love using these not only for cutting wires and metal elements, but also for cutting faux flower stems!)

3: Level (a small level is so handy for hanging photos or trim)

4: Hammer (a DIYer can't go without one!)

5: Pencil (I like the flat orange carpenter's pencils)

6: Utility Knife (this tool has so many uses - it's an essential!)

7: Needle Nosed Pliers (from pulling out old nails to opening paint cans, these are handy on any job)

8: Measuring Tape (I also carry one in my purse for measuring decor accessories when shopping!)

9: Safety Glasses (I have clear ones for indoors and tinted ones for outdoor jobs)

10: Drywall Anchors + Screws (for hanging shelves and art)

11: Multi-Head Screwdriver (I love having a screwdriver that I can change on the fly)

12: Sanding Block (for finishing sanding any of my wooden projects)

13: Kleenex Gentle Clean Wet Wipes (for cleaning my hands and face when I'm doing a DIY on site!)

There have been so many times that I've not had access to a sink while creating something or filming a video on location, and packing some Kleenex Gentle Clean Wet Wipes has essential. They're thick and soft with no harsh chemicals, which is perfect for my sensitive skin! Don't forget to pack some in your own tool bag for cleaning on the go - you'll be happy you did.

Now, ready to see my tool bag in action and how we juggle our day-to-day life?

Watch a day in my life right here:

Now tell me: What's your favourite tool? If you're a mom, what do you find hardest to juggle - working and kids? Self-care and kids? Maintaining relationships with your friends and family? I'd love to chat in the comments below!
