Ready to elevate your gift-giving game with some uncorked creativity? Today, I’m sharing some fun wine gift wrapping ideas that will leave your loved ones impressed and delighted. And guess what? We’re turning ordinary items like socks and napkins into fabulous gift wrap!
Wine makes a wonderful hostess gift, housewarming party gift, Valentine’s Day gift or a “just because” gift for a friend. Rather than using a plain store-bought gift bag, I love wrapping my wine in fun ways to make this simple gift extra special and more personal. The following are my favourite wine gift wrapping ideas, but your giftee doesn’t have to be a wine-lover to enjoy these wrapping techniques. Instead of a gift of wine, you could also use these for a bottle of pop or juice!
The Cozy Sock Wine Hug 🧦🍷
You can find adorable seasonal socks at places like the dollar store. It’s time to give them a unique purpose – hugging your favorite bottle of wine! This creates a cute & cozy two-in-one gift for your recipient. Here’s how:
- A pair of socks (I found these fuzzy Valentines socks at Dollarama, but this wrap method would also be cute with Holiday-themed socks)
- A lovely bottle of wine or juice
- Scrap yarn, a piece of ribbon and/or string to match the socks
- My free printable Valentines gift tags (or any seasonal gift tags you like) – print them on cardstock paper, cut them with scissors, and punch a hole in the top
- Slip the bottle into one sock, ensuring it’s snug and secure.
- Use the other sock to tie a charming bow around the neck of the bottle.
- Add some cute gift tags to some yarn or string, and tie them around the bottle neck. You can find my free printable Valentine’s Day gift tags here.
- Don’t forget to write a heartfelt and personal message on the gift tags!
Voila! You’ve just transformed ordinary socks into a cozy wine hug. It’s not just a gift; it’s a warm embrace in every sip!
Pleated Napkin Magic 🍷✨
Got a spare cloth napkin lying around? Let’s transform it into a stunning pleated wrapping masterpiece. This one’s sure to add an elegant touch to your wine gift. It’s my favourite way to wrap wine or juice!
- A beautiful square cloth napkin (you could also use a cute tea towel for this wrapping method!)
- Ribbon or twine
- Your chosen bottle of wine
- My free printable Christmas gift tags (or any other seasonal gift tags you like)
- Small piece of faux greenery
- Lay the napkin flat on a clean surface.
- Place the bottle on the napkin, with the top of the bottle lined up with the top of the napkin.
- Fold the bottom of the napkin up & over the bottom of the bottle.
- Push in both sides of the napkin as shown above. You’ll create two layers of two fabric triangles on either side of the bottle.
- Bring the top right triangle over the bottle, to the right. Now, bring the top left triangle over the bottle to the right. Repeat with the bottom layer of triangles.
- Secure the pleats by tying ribbon or twine around the neck, making a lovely bow.
- Add a cute gift tag to some yarn or string, and tie it around the neck of the wine bottle for a special touch. You can find my free printable Christmas gift tags here.
- Finish by tucking a sprig of faux greenery into the bow. You could also use a small bunch of faux flowers or dried flowers as an embellishment.

Ta-da! You’ve just created a pleated masterpiece that will turn your wine gift into a cute presentation for your gift receipients.
Bonus Tip: Personalize with a Charm 🌟
Take your wine gift to the next level by adding a personalized charm. It could be a tiny ornament, a handmade trinket, jingle bells, a recipe card with your favourite recipe, or even a small keepsake that holds sentimental value. Attach it to the bow with the gift tags for that extra touch of thoughtfulness.
There you have it – two simple yet adorable wine gift wrapping ideas that will make your presents the talk of the town. These are perfect for Christmas gifts, Valentine’s Day gifts, birthdays, and pretty much any celebration or occasion!
