Decorate for Valentine's Day (or even early Spring!) with this crafty and lovely DIY paper flower hoop wreath! You can easily cut out all of the flower pieces with a Cricut, and they're so fun to assemble. Let's make it!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

I ADORE flowers. And flowers with HEARTS? Even better! This lovey-dovey wreath is a combination of both, and it's the perfect decoration for Valentine's Day or even for Spring.

This paper flowers hoop wreath looks right at home on my mantel for Valentine's Day. I used shades of warm pinks and reds for the paper flowers along with mints for the leaves.

A similar colour scheme was used for this DIY Valentine's Day heart sign I made for on my mantel, and you can find all the instructions for that in this video - it was also created with the help of my Cricut!

Ready to make your own paper flower Valentine's Day hoop wreath? Let's get started!

    Tools & Materials:

    • Cricut Explore Air 2
    • Cricut Cardstock Sample in Sorbet
    • Your favourite patterned Cricut scrapbook paper pack (I used Natalie Malan's Belle Citron) (optional - you could also use a solid colour from the cardstock pack above)
    • Large metal hoop (I found mine on Etsy)
    • Glue gun
    • Pencil & toothpick to help curl the leaves and flower petals

    Instructions:

Open up the Canvas I made for this project in Cricut Design Space by clicking here. I've used some images created by Lia Griffith I found in Design Space to make these gorgeous flowers, so you will need to purchase those files if you wish to recreate these same flowers. I thought the purchase was well worth it, as I can see myself re-using these files to make more flowers for other projects throughout the year!

Click "Make It" at the bottom of the project and get your Cricut Explore Air 2 and paper ready. I used the lightest pink paper in the Sorbet cardstock sampler to cut the peonies, the red for the hearts and succulents, and the pink & red polka dot patterned paper from the Belle Citron pack for the dahlias. There are two different sizes of each flower, so try to keep your pieces in separate piles so they don't get mixed up!

Curl the petals of the flower pieces with the handle of a paint brush or a pencil. You can find all of the folding and assembly instructions for each type of flower here on Lia Griffith's website.

Assemble all of the flowers as per Lia's directions. I used a glue gun to secure all of the pieces together.

Aren't these so lovely?! I can think of so many ways to use these gorgeous paper flowers!

To make this Valentine's Day hoop wreath, arrange your paper flowers on one side of the large metal hoop in a way you like. I did end up making an extra couple flowers for my wreath because my hoop is so large - 27" in diameter.

Glue the flowers onto the wreath with a hot glue gun, and then place and glue the leaves onto the backs of some of the flowers so that they stick out from beneath the flowers.

You can finish the wreath off by gluing one heart at the top of the flower arrangement, and one at the bottom. Your V-Day wreath is all done!

I love how easy it was to create a Valentine decoration I absolutely HEART with my Cricut! (And I also can't wait to make more DIYs with these gorgeous paper flowers!)
