Happy Thanksgiving, friends! This month, I’ve been sharing simple Fall table decorating ideas and some budget-friendly Thanksgiving DIY decor inspiration. Today, I’m here to give you some free printable Thanksgiving name tags for your table and some new, fun ways to use them!

Why Use Printable Place Cards?

Place cards aren’t just about directing your guests to their seats. They also add a festive touch to your Thanksgiving table decor. Plus, they’re an easy way to incorporate family traditions into your Thanksgiving dinner table setting.

Whether you have a small group of family members or a larger Friendsgiving celebration, these free printables provide a perfect way to personalize your holiday table.

What You’ll Need

Creating your own place cards is simple. All you need is:

  1. White cardstock (Card stock adds a professional touch, but regular paper works too!)
  2. A home printer
  3. A paper trimmer or scissors
  4. Desktop computer, a tablet or a smart phone with Internet access

How to Make Your Own Thanksgiving Place Cards

First, click on the link to my FREE Canva Thanksgiving name tag template file below (or click right here). There are 4 tags on the page layout with different Thanksgiving themed illustrations on each tag like a pumpkin and leaf.

When you click on the printable template link, it will open up in Canva which is a free online graphic design program. Add your guests’ names to each card by clicking on the names I have in the file and typing the names you wish to use instead.

Once you’ve added all your guest’s names, print the cards on white cardstock using your inkjet printer. For the highest quality, make sure your printer settings are set to “high quality”. Don’t worry about using too much ink, the designs are simple and won’t drain your cartridges.

After printing, use your paper trimmer to cut out each card. Fold each card in half to make a tent shape so it will sit perfectly on your table.

Different Ways to Display Your Place Cards

There are so many different ways to display your Thanksgiving place card printables. Here are a few great ideas:

  1. On the Salad Plate or Upper Left Side of the Table Setting: Simply place the card on top of each salad plate or upper left side at each place setting. It’s a traditional tablescape look that never fails.
  2. With a Mini Pumpkin: For a fun way to celebrate the season, tie each card to a mini pumpkin.
  3. In Pine Cones: For a rustic touch, place each card in a pine cone at each setting.
  4. At the Buffet: If you’re hosting a buffet table, you could also use the cards as food tents to label different dishes.

Remember, these free printable Thanksgiving place cards are for personal use only. But feel free to share the link with your friends to use for their own celebrations!

A Little Extra Touch

Looking to add more personal touches to your holiday? Why not use the extra printable designs as Thanksgiving gift tags? They’re a perfect addition to any holiday gift for kids and adults alike. Just print, cut, use a hole punch to make a hole, and attach to your goodie bags with some ribbon or twine. You could even press some Fall leaves and attach them to the tag! It’s another simple way to make this Thanksgiving memorable.

So, grab your card stock and start printing! These free printable Thanksgiving name tags are an easy way to add a little something special to your Thanksgiving table. Whether you choose to use them for your buffet table or as a decoration for your guests’ salad plates, they’re sure to be a hit.

Happy printing, and have a great time hosting this Thanksgiving!
