This May, I introduced you to Our DIY Camper 2.0 - a new-to-us fifth wheel that I'm renovating for our family.
Here's what I've done in the camper so far:
- removed window cornices, wallpaper borders and MORE than I originally planned
- updated the kitchen with peel & stick back splash and countertop
- painted all the walls, trim and kitchen cabinets
- laid new vinyl plank flooring throughout the main area
- transformed the light fixtures into beaded boho features for only $7 each
- converted the entertainment unit into a coffee & drinks bar
- revealed the finished main space
Today, I'm sharing how I made over the bunk room in our camper for our three daughters!
Here's how the bunk room Our DIY Camper 2.0 looked before:
Watch my YouTube video to see how I turned our camper's bunk room into a pink & floral oasis for my girls:
Here's how our RV bunkhouse looks now:
To begin this makeover, I removed the top cabinet of the original TV unit, removed the old bunk trim, and sanded all the wood & faux wood. I painted the walls with BEHR ULTRA ™ SCUFF DEFENSE ™ Interior Extra Durable Flat Paint & Primer in Simply White, and the cabinets, door and trim in Rustoleum Chalked Paint in Blush Pink.
The painting made the biggest difference, and then I applied these lovely peony decals from Rocky Mountain Decals on the bunk room walls. When I realized how nicely the leaves of the decals went with the original olive green curtains in the bunk room, I decided to keep the curtains as-is!
The entertainment unit area became a sort of vanity spot with a mirror from IKEA, LED lights from Giant Tiger, hooks from IKEA, and gold baskets from Dollar Tree. The handles are from our old camper and spray painted gold.
Lots of hooks and baskets will help my girls store all of their hair accessories and crafts when we camp.
I found the ladder on Amazon, and switched the rope out to this cotton rope (I removed a strand) for the look I wanted.
These blush pink sheets from Amazon, a couple of pink pillow covers from IKEA and this DIY arm knit blanket completed the feminine and cozy look I wanted for this bunk room makeover!
I'm so happy my girls are thrilled with the bunk room, and we're excited to keep using our RV a few more times this summer!
What do you think of this bunk room makeover?
